Festive Sweater Retailer Skedouche Gets New Life as Festified

Festive Sweater Retailer Skedouche Gets New Life as Festified

The date is November 17, 2009.

Our hero, John Kaplar, sits hunched over a desk in a darkened room, the glow of a laptop illuminating his face. On the screen, a search engine. “Festive Christmas sweater,” he types. The search returns thousands upon thousands of results, but none offer quite what he’s looking for.

He tries “tacky Christmas sweater.” Again, the search returns thousands upon thousands of results, but none offer quite what he’s looking for.

    “SKEDOUCHE,” John shouts, frustrated.

All he wanted was an NFL-themed sweater for the office tacky Christmas sweater party next week, but what he found was disappointment. Year after year, all of the major retailers failed to carry “festive” sweaters for men, and he was forced to wear ill-fitting ladies sweaters. This year was proving to be no different.

“Skedouche, skedouche, skedouche,” he clucked, pacing his apartment, trying to uncover a solution to this men’s festive sweater wasteland in which he’d found himself. “Skedouche! That’s it!” he shouted. An idea was born.*

Skedouche — an online retailer of holiday sweaters and accessories for men, women, children, dogs, and cats — launched their website in November 2009 to much fanfare; the company now sells thousands of products every year, and has been featured The Tonight Show, The View, The Chew, and Community.

Well, earlier this year, company founder John Kaplar decided it was time for a change. Skedouche has changed their name to Festified, and launched a redesigned website (which is where you’ve found yourself now; take a look around). The new name is reflective of the company’s commitment to serving the tacky sweater market, as they expand their product line to include NFL sweaters; sweggings — yes, sweater leggings! — sweater pants, or swants; movie-themed sweaters; and sweaters for the big and tall crowd.

“The decision to become Festified makes a clear statement about who we are, and where we want to take our business,” said Kaplar. “We are committed to maintaining excellent customer service alongside a high quality and enjoyable shopping experience.”

The new festive color scheme and bright, graphic logo welcome visitors to the brand new Festified website. An easy-to-navigate menu makes browsing simple and fun; a live chat feature ensures customers find exactly the festive sweater they seek; and look! A blog!

Stay informed, and up-to-speed on the latest news and product announcements. Festified’s Christmas sweater store is overflowing with the highest-quality, tackiest, ugliest, most obnoxious and festive Christmas sweaters in the world.
